Actor Laurence Fox rejected claims Harry and Meghan are being driven out of the UK by racism.
But he did more than that. He warned the Left’s obsession is providing a cloak for crime.
The Sussexes’ decision to quit was “not racism”, he told a cheering crowd. “We’re the most tolerant, lovely country in Europe.”
Significantly, the applause came not from the far Right but from
right-on BBC Question Time — an audience carefully chosen, stressed
presenter Fiona Bruce, to reflect Britain by age, sex and politics.
Fox — famous as DS James Hathaway in TV’s Lewis — was instantly denounced as a “privileged white male” and therefore with no right to an opinion.
“Oh, God!” he cried. “I can’t help what I am, I was born like this.
It’s an immutable characteristic, so to call me a white privileged male
is to be racist.”
His landmark moment went viral."
