"Anthony Borges, a Parkland shooting victim who was shot five times,
released a statement on Friday that criticized the Broward County
Sheriff’s Office for failing to protect students.
Borges, a Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student, was recently
released from the hospital but remains in a wheelchair. He was shot five
times while barricading a classroom door to prevent Nikolas Cruz from
getting to his classmates.
The survivor appeared with his lawyer, Alex Arreaza, at a press conference on Friday evening. Arreaza read a statement
on Borges’ behalf that placed blame on Sheriff Scott Israel, the
Broward County School District, and the Broward deputies who did not
enter while Cruz was shooting up the school.
“I know I’ve been called Iron Man,” the statement said. “And while
I’m honored to be called this, I am not. I’m a 15-year-old who’s been
shot five times, while Broward Sheriff’s deputies waited outside and

Yes, men can be boorish - but that's not a hate crime

Yesterday was International Women’s Day
and female MPs marked the occasion by having a Commons debate about
turning misogyny into a hate crime.
There
was no talk of turning misandry (contempt for men) into a hate crime,
an oversight which should get them all locked up in sexist jail, but
never mind. ...........
It’s utterly unacceptable for men to think
they can go around inappropriately touching women, leering at them or
frightening them without expecting official reprimand and punishment.
But
while such behaviour is boorish, sexist, bullying and sometimes even
illegal, I feel uneasy about it being rebranded as a hate crime.
After all, what isn’t a hate crime these days?

Report: UK Taxpayer Hands £6 Million a Year to Islamic Charities Working to ‘Damage Our Society’

Barring any unforeseen accidents and a fair breeze behind him, Trump will be sailing into the 2020 election to win it most probably by a greater margin than he won in 2016. Trump has delivered more in one year than Obama did in eight, and you have to remember under the latter’s administration, everything was either in decline or simply going nowhere. ........
All this was achieved despite an establishment swamp in Washington on both sides of the aisle determinedly resisting him both overtly and covertly and despite the media propaganda machine, Hollywood, NFL prima donnas, the fake news and the fake polls. Every one of those power blocks has ended up having a terrible year, especially on the financial front, as the average person punished them in response.
Apart from his own political acumen, the only aid he had was from a disintegrating Democrat party, who’ve quite frankly lost the plot and done themselves a power of no good in the perception of the electorate in the year since they voted for him to be president. All this was achieved despite an establishment swamp in Washington on both sides of the aisle determinedly resisting him both overtly and covertly and despite the media propaganda machine, Hollywood, NFL prima donnas, the fake news and the fake polls. Every one of those power blocks has ended up having a terrible year, especially on the financial front, as the average person punished them in response.
Apart from his own political acumen, the only aid he had was from a disintegrating Democrat party, who’ve quite frankly lost the plot and done themselves a power of no good in the perception of the electorate in the year since they voted for him to be president.
