"Latvia, which is suffering from the deepest recession in the European Union, is also trying to negotiate a wider Budget deficit with the European Commission and the International Monetary Fund. If not, Valdis Dombrovskis, the Latvian Prime Minister, has warned that the country faces bankruptcy."
